Kinetics Tactile Guidance System

The tactile guidance system is a non-obstructive route within the transportation network such as the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) stations or pedestrian walkways to assist those whom are visually impaired to navigate around the MRT stations or linkway with ease, confidence and safety.

The tactile indicators consists of Decision Stud and Direction Strip patterns.

It comes in 2 shapes:
   1. Tactile Stud Type;
   2. Tactile Strip Type.

The Tactile Studs are also known as Decision Studs. They indicate a potential hazard (i.e. staircase, ramp), a change of direction or location of amenities.

For Tactile Strip (Directional Strip) on the other hand indicates the direction of travel for the visually impaired.

Tactile indicators are also available in Ceramic material (Homogeneous Unglazed Ceramic Tactile Tiles) .

Ceramic tiles are commonly used by the road authorities on outdoor pedestrian walkways, bus stops, car park crossing, ramps etc.

For Stainless Steel Tactile they are commonly used indoors. Due to its high quality finish, luminance and aesthetic appeal, many architects prefer the use of Stainless Steel Tactile Stud/Strip for indoor applications.
